Hi LTF here again. It’s that time of the week again. Time to blog again.

This week for Design Thinking and Expression Lessons we learnt Rhino and Keyshot. The paper lamp exhibition will be held next week so I will cover it when the entire event has ended.

As for the theme project, the Neurosky headset and Arduino starter kit we ordered have arrived!

Time to get to work!

The Team ISTD created their “hello world” mobile app after spending the entire week downloading the required packages despite intermittent internet connection. Team EPD managed to connect the Neurosky headset to a computer via Bluetooth and the information was used to light up an LED gauge (Showing Attention and Meditation levels) via cable to the Arduino board using Python.

1) MOUNTAINS served 2 ways: Misty and Clear

Climbed up the series of mountains found at the back of Yu Quan campus. Foggy day.

Reached the ridgeline. Really foggy… Shaun was not pleased…

Breath-taking scenery. Marvelous.

Foggy mountain you win this time, but I will have my revenge… REVENGE! Muahahahaha!

Perfect weather! YEEEEEEEES!

Climbing up the Yu Quan mountain range again. Kevin pointing to the potential shell scrape spot. Evil Kevin.

I… hate… upslope…

Look at the nice ridgeline!

Breath-taking scenery. Marvelous.

Spectacular sunset from 美人峰. Took 2 hours to reach but the view was worth. #YuQuan>ZJG

2) LAKES: 西湖versus 湘湖

西湖. About a 30 minute walk from Yu Quan campus. #YuQuan>ZJG

Too… many… people… getting… claustrophobic…

湘湖. The last station of the Red Line Metro. The so-called “little brother” of西湖.

Nice bridge.

Nice bridge.

Nice Kevin.

Nice Bridge. There are lots of bridges to explore.

Verdict: 湘湖 wins. It is less “touristy”, less crowded, unlike 西湖.

3) FOOD: Food Montage

咕噜咕噜 hotpot restaurant. Stacks of beef was MVP.

Bento from Family Mart in school. 7-Eleven please up your game.

Lasagna from Pizza Hut. Slightly cheaper than Singapore due to lack of service charge and GST.

You have to pick your fights. Some days you just have to detox.

Weekly theme dinner was at that Korean restaurant from last week and we one-upped our KBQ game by TRIPLING the cheese in our pot. Best. Decision. Ever. MVP! MVP! MVP!

Good dry noodles a 10 minute walk from Yu Quan hostel. You need to cross YOLO road (will show a picture of it next time).

Japanese meal at 黄龙体育馆, a 15 minute walk from Yu Quan hostel in the opposite direction of YOLO road. This costs only 6 SGD. Worth.

红灯笼 at Yu Quan Houjie. Potato beef was MVP.

MISCELLANEOUS Pictures

Aditya loves Radiohead.

Aditya loves sitting on rocks. Aditya regrets not bringing his DSLR.

Aditya loves the cream in the cream puff.

Double the glasses, double the awesome.

Watched game 6 of Western Conference Finals in Boxing’s room. Look at that Klay Thompson. Game MVP killing OKC from THREE. Boxing and I were shouting so loudly during the game that people 3 rooms away could hear us. The Warriors won the game and eventually won the series, being the 10thteam out of over 200 teams to come back from a 3-1 deficit. History in the making right there.

Ok that is all. See you next week.

LTF signing off.

These signals can be detected in specific regions of the brain through a technique known as electroencephalograph (EEG). Group M, a mixture of aspiring EPD and ISTD students, aims to come up with a product that leverages on EEG technology. The desired outcome is a Brain Machine Interface (BMI) , in which a person can control the output of the device (such as an eletrical wheel chair) through mental thought alone. Stay tuned to our our blog as we share our latest developments as well as other exciting things we will be doing during ALP!
