Hey there! We are a team of 8 members embarking on Interactive & Smart Product Design.

Brief Introduction of us

Our theme consist of 2 different projects: The Smart Toy Design and 3D Printer Design. The Smart Toy Design group consists of Shawn, Jeannie, Sab and I and we strive to implement a next-generation interactive gadget for pets that incorporates innovative technology. Thus far, we have designed our own soft toy using a program called Easy Toy, as well as undergone numerous brainstorming and market research on relevant smart toy products.

Meanwhile 3D Printer Design group consists of Jun Hao, Alvin, Stanley and Felix. They are to bring SLA (Stereolithography) 3D printing technology to the next level by redesigning and improving the different parts of the 3D printer. Further exciting updates about their progress will be up soon! So stay tune!

Our Progress! (Smart toy design)

Our progress so far in the Smart Toy Design team has been rather smooth sailing. A considerable amount of time were spent on cracking our brain for innovative juices to craft out various smart products.

We are also working very closely together with a pet toy design company  (HangZhou TianYuan Pet Products Factory) to tap on their expertise as well as exchanging creative ideas to bring conventional pet toys to the next frontier.

Over the course of many weeks, we continue to gain deeper understanding on aspects such as pets behavior, exposure to existing pet products while factoring consumers preferences and marketability should such product features roll out. Our next meeting with the company would be this coming Friday, so stay tune for further development updates!

Product Conceptualisation

In the coming days we will be using Rhino to 3D model our product concepts. Thats all for now! Stay tune for our next post!

Our team have already started on the basics as of 27th May by designing our own soft toy using a program called Easy Toy. The objective of 3D Printer Design members is to bring SLA (Stereolithography) 3D printing technology to the next level by redesigning and improving the different parts of the 3D printer using the program Solidworks. To accomplish this, students will be learning the technology behind SLA 3D printing and the software of the printer.
