During the last four months, I’ve made frequent trips back to China. The main reason is that my hometown Guangzhou is located north of Hong Kong and it only takes me 2 hours to catch a ride back home by bullet train. Apart from heading home, I also went to Chaozhou and Shantou with my families, to Shenzhen to visit my friends or simply for good food, and to Yunnan Province for a 9-day trip during revision week. Below are some photos when I was in Yunnan.

Looking back, I have been home more in Term 6 than any of the previous terms. I really treasure and value my time with families as I am studying overseas in Singapore and for some years to come. Therefore, I am especially grateful for this exchange opportunity, as it allows me to spend more time with my family and gives me a chance to take a break in between intense studies.

I have been rethinking about work-life balance during my time in Hong Kong and realized how I had been pushing myself too hard with the good old “am I good enough?”. School life in SUTD is definitely more stressful and competitive than here in CityU, but through this exchange, I realize that it does not always have to be like this. Maybe I could just loosen up a little and enjoy life a bit more. I really appreciate the quality time I had with my families and friends during the past four months, and frankly, I felt that I was living my life to the fullest. And that is exactly what I would like to bring back to Singapore when Term 7 starts and leave no regrets for the rest of my Uni life.
