Last Friday wraps up the last session I have with my assigned students from Chubei Junior High School. In the past few months, we have been Skyping each other on some Fridays, sharing about our respective culture and experiences.
Through the experience, I was prompted to think about the different things about Taiwan and Singapore that I appreciate, share more about the Singapore culture while also learning more about the life of Taiwanese high-school students.
Every international student will be partnered with a local student for this program, and I am glad I was paired with my friendly Taiwanese partner Zi Xuan~
While I was initially worried about my students being unenthusiastic teenagers, their quirky responses, interesting group dynamic and interest in our conversations made the Friday sessions especially enjoyable.
