Staying in a foreign place with new people has a special way of bringing stranger together. Of course, 4 months per school term we are bound to celebrate numerous birthdays with new friends from different nationalities. It is particularly heart-warming when newly-made friends took the time out to plan and celebrate for the birthday of exchange students, whose friends and family may not be present. It was nothing short of memorable.

In this picture alone, we have Singapore students from SUTD, NUS, and NTU; exchange students from Japan, Hong Kong; and, of course, the Taiwanese.

Even though we were only here for a short time of one school term, we formed close friendships with each other, all from multiple nationalities.
