China Academy of Art

We started off the week with a visit to the China Academy of Art where we managed to catch their graduate exhibition. It was quite an eye-opening experience and their projects were really impressive. Also, the school compound was really nice and had some pretty interesting architecture.

While other themes have been attending ZJU courses (besides Design Fiction) for quite some time already, we have not attended any so far. However, we finally had the opportunity this week and our chosen course was machine learning. So, on Tuesday, the group tackling the issues with Cainiao collection point went to tour one outside of school while the initial plan was for the other group to

Didi to class

go ahead and attend our very first ZJU lesson. However, there was a change of plans and the second group did not go for the class. Instead, we were to attend the next lesson which was on Friday and this time with the whole group in tow.

The lesson was in the morning and held all the way at another campus (西溪校区 / Xixi Campus) so what else to do but to… didi.

We were still thinking about how we now had to wake up early twice a week and whether we were going to didi there every time but turns out we didn’t have to worry about that because this was the first slide of the lesson:

Huh?

Turns out the course was a graduate course which is way above our level so I guess we won’t be going back anytime soon. We basically sat there for two hours not understanding a single thing:/

The group tackling the label issue will also have a field trip next week. Hopefully all goes well and our projects really start to kick off. Till next week!
