We finally arrive in Hangzhou……
We’ve been waiting so long for a term of holiday exciting exchange at ZJU!!
We checked in to our respective hostels- the international students’ hostel and 翠柏… A great range of emotions were expressed upon checking in.

I was lucky to get a great room. An auntie comes around to clean and change the mattress every Tuesday and Friday (she is really nice!) I feel quite spoilt.
We also met our theme members for the first time! Ate a huge meal at 三楼餐厅… As we ate, new dishes continued to fill the table all the way until we thought we were done. We almost left the last dish behind because we thought the meal was over.
After a food coma our TA brought us around the campus for a tour and…

The places in the pictures are some of my favourite spots in the campus. I’ll be back to sketch them soon!
Our weekend was packed with Buddy Day activities! But before that, there was a mad rush to bids for the places that we wanted to go. Both Jiayi and I managed to go to Hangzhou Botanical Garden (slots were filled within half an hour!) so I’ll blog about it.

The garden isn’t the most exciting place to go to- I’d describe the place as serene. Besides tourists, there were quite a few elderly strolling through the park, relaxing on benches and even practicing singing as a hobby.

After spending an hour plus at the garden, we went for a huge dinner at Yuquan campus…

… and had a mini tour through the beautiful campus as well.

And that’s about it for week 1! Looking forward to the rest of our ALP journey.
