Our 2nd theme project heats up with the coming of this week. This week, my subteam resin table heads out to a factory to begin making the resin table.
On the way to the factory situated in a rural part of Hangzhou. We’ll need to endure the bumpy roads everytime we come here though.
Our workplace in the factory, has all equipment just like the arts school we been to.
Our first task there was to assemble the mould we needed to put our resin into. Having done this the last time in the arts school, this was not something new to us. We diligently saw and nailed down wood, wrapped them up in PVC and glued them together for a solid 4 hours.
Making our mould, something we’re no stranger to.
Next up, we needed to make the layers for the resin. This had to be done through inserting ink into a layer of unhardened resin and then spreading the ink through the layer, wait for the layer to harden and repeat the above steps when the resin layer has fully hardened.
Some nice pattern I saw on the wall when we were making the resin layers
Lunch at the factory. Food is not that good however..
While our work heats up, the weather heats up too! And while we all complain of Singapore’s hot weather, guess what, you have not seen much hotter weathers yet…
37 – 38 degree Celsius here in Hangzhou!
The week then proceeded with my subteam, resin table having discussions on our final presentation, and video. Nicholas and I worked together on what content we would like to show to the audience in our powerpoint slides, hoping to put on a good show for them. Lucas meanwhile was working on our projector, raspberry pi and sensors, which his main task was to make the projector play a video when the sensors detect an obstruction close by.
Ending off the week with good Japanese food and pandan cake from my roommate!
Hope all will turn out well!
