Ahhh apologies for the delayed post but I’ve been busy prepping for finals at Stanford. It’s the second last week of Stanford and we’re starting to feel the heat. And I also mean that literally as the temperature is creeping up the scale.

So naturally, I decided that it’d be a good a time as any to go for a hike at the Stanford Dish Hiking trail, which took me around the hills looking over the gleaming red campus and also the Satellite Dish sitting atop the hill.

It was definitely a sight to behold, with Spanish-style houses peppered all over the hill, the San Francisco Bay lining the horizon, and the SF skyline in the far distance, reminding me of the post-summer trip that I’ll be going on because study hard, play extra hard.

Also, I made it a point to explore as much of Stanford as possible, so even while I’m tied down to study, I would be studying in the different libraries of Stanford: Earth Sciences Library, Medical Library, Lathrop Library, Green Library, and all the other libraryarys there is here. I especially loved the Law library because it was so classy and is homed in a Brutalist-style building, with its unpretentious and plain stone architecture that I really like, for some reason.

Also, I finally got to visit the Stanford Memorial Church, which was stunning! And full of visitors. I’m not sure, but I think the entrance is plated with gold..(?) but I don’t know. #stanfordmysteries

Well, I’m not going to ASD but I feel that I’ve become more appreciative of Architecture, good luck y’all!

Aside from exploring the campus, I also got to discover more of the lifestyles here. The people here are brilliant and their passion is infectious, you kinda feel like you might just want to set up a start up tomorrow. Silicon Valley is just half an hour away anyway.

Fast forward, we ended the week with a prom…??

And of course, National Day Celebrations!!! 15 hours after it actually happened!! It was cool to meet the Singaporeans in Stanford, and we even got to meet an SUTD senior here!! That’s amazing. *cues that SUTD cheer that no one knows the lyrics*

Anyway, it’s been a great week 7 here at Stanford. Finals are next week but we’re still enjoying our time here. #WorkLifeBalance is so so important, hope to see more of it back home! :z

If you look closely, you’ll see the dish and also Stanford’s Hoover Tower.

Until then, byeeeee!
