湖墅学校

We visited one of the more prominent buildings in the city and Shao flew his drone around! The aerial shots were really breathtaking.

河坊街

河坊街 (he2fang2jie1), one of the night markets in Hangzhou was touristy but exciting. The food here was not as good as I expected but the atmosphere around this place felt free!

湖墅学校

The other TFI students and I went on a field trip with some of the students from Hushu Special School () to the Grand Canal. Promoting recycling and being earth-friendly, the students and the rest of us gave out flyers, with the students warm heartedly explaining to the members of the public. I felt very touched by their passion and determination to do such a seemingly small task. We went around picking up rubbish and the students made it fun by competing to see who could pick more rubbish.

大运河

Afterward, some of the students, who had visited the place before took us around to see some of the sights the Grand Canal had to offer.

We settled on a little pavilion and the students started entertaining themselves by singing. We also sang some songs together and everyone was very joyous!! 😀

龙虾街

Upon exploring the streets, my friends and I chanced upon this place we call 龙虾街 because there were many stalls selling 小龙虾. However, the best part of this place wasn’t the 龙虾, but……

best noodle stall!!!

This stall!!!!! The auntie and uncle only open their pop-up shop at night, and they sell the best supper I’ve eaten since our arrival hahahah. The chao mien is especially good and also really cheap!!!

sports day

We returned to Hushu on another day this week for their Sports Day event! Everyone in school was involved and there were many events, all held at their track which also doubled as a basketball court.

Marvin and I were tasked to man the finishing point for the races. The students were really excited to cheer their friends on while racing and would sometimes even come too close and get onto the track that the race was, blocking the racers paths hahaha

zju 120

This weekend was also the celebration of ZJU’s birthday! They just turned 120 and alot of celebrations were held.

玉泉 concert

Concerts were held at the different campuses. My friends and I travelled to the 玉泉 one as we heard that it would be the best. However, we only got space to stand at the back, where the sound quality wasn’t as good. It was an exciting night nevertheless!

紫金港 parade

Our own campus back at 紫金港 had parades for the different faculties of the school and it was interesting to see what they had come up with! It was really crowded, but a good end to the second week hehe

and onward rolled week 3!!
