The long awaited trip to Bangkok, Thailand is finally here! The 30 of us, our student facilitator Lowen and Prof. Tee Hui gathered up at Changi Airport Terminal 1 at an early 5 am, and set off to Suvarnabhumi Airport, Bangkok.

We landed at about 9 am Bangkok Time (1 hour earlier than SGT) after a short 2 hour flight on Thai Airways. The Mahidol University student hosts received us at the airport, who then brought us to have our own lunches at Centralplaza Salaya.

We then travelled back to our accomodation to drop off our luggage, before heading to Mahidol University for a short introduction of what is to come in the week ahead. Many of us were excited for the activities that they have planned out for us, which we will be doing together with our Thai counterparts!

Afterwards, the students from MU ran an orientation session for us to interact and get to know our soon-to-be workshop groupmates! We played some games and were taught their traditional orientation dances that we had to do as forfeits!

For the rest of the evening, we ventured out along the main street of our accommodation, which happens to be opposite the university. There were an abundance of street food stalls, convenience shops and amenities, which will come in handy for our stay here!

It was a great first day in Bangkok, and we can’t wait to see what’s in store for us in the week ahead!
