Together with my roommates, we signed up for an ESN (Erasmus Student Network) Helsinki tour where we got to look at historical buildings in Helsinki, getting to know the city better. We followed the student guides from University of Helsinki where they explained to us the history behind some of the most well-known buildings in Helsinki. The more prominent ones are Helsinki Cathedral, where many couples like to take wedding photoshoots and hold their wedding there, and the Uspenski Cathedral.

The tour ended at the Helsinki Central Library Oodi, located right at the heart of Helsinki where we were amazed by the architecture and size of the building.

Afterwards, we were wondering around on our own and decided to take the ferry to Suomenlinna. The Suomenlinna fortress is a UNESCO world heritage site and one of the more popular attractions in Finland! But we mostly went for the amazing sea view 🙂

We ended the day off walking around Helsinki City Centre, admiring the city itself before heading home to Espoo.
